handle is a series of handles for drawers and cabinets. During my stay at Studio ZAND in the Netherlands, I developed these handles. I wanted to further explore the design principle of transforming a form through the addition of other forms, building on the approach first developed in Spike. The haptic aspect was also central to the development of my ideas, as I explored how touch, texture, and material qualities influence the perception and experience of the objects. Working directly with porcelain and manipulating forms by hand allowed me to engage fully with these tactile qualities. I was able to learn a great deal in the studio and received extensive guidance throughout my process, which helped me refine both the visual and the haptic dimensions of my work.
The production process is very interesting, as I started by turning the objects on a plaster wheel to create plaster molds, which I then used to cast the basic forms in porcelain. The additional shapes that I added on top were individually cast and attached by hand.To attach them to the drawers, I glued wooden screws with a hole into the opening, which allowed me to secure everything with a pin.
