aboutRose

Spike is an ongoing process that has accompanied me for a long time. After completing my apprenticeship in ceramics, I began working on realizing the ideas in my mind. By adding spikes, I aim to transform and distort the original form. Spike cups can be used as regular tea cups while allowing them to be held safely even with hot liquid inside. I want to optimize the production process so that I no longer have to attach each spike individually. Currently, I am exploring how to use Grasshopper to program a parametric design that allows me to 3D print the forms I envision.

So far, I have been making my plaster molds by drilling my spikes directly into the plaster. However, this method is too imprecise. My goal is to create plaster molds from 3D-printed forms (image below.). From there, I can start working with porcelain and making casts.
